The Second Instalment of…Minute Momentary Mind Insights!

And…here… we… go!

Today’s second minute momentary mind insights is derived from (what in my nerdy opinion) is the greatest filmic characterisation of the Clown Prince of Crime: Heath Ledger’s Joker.

Like most genius mega-minded maniacs, the Joker spoke continuous words of wisdom amidst insane and comical remarks. Two of these, as above, hold much philosophical notability.

The idea of madness and monstrosity being an innate quality of humanity brought out by acts of evil or pain, is exemplified in his first iconic quote. The concept that evil is inevitable and that he is ‘ahead of the curve’ of humanity by being a monster, actually holds a lot of deep truth.

The second, (more metaphorical for the needs of us English enthusiasts), regards how all we need to be driven to madness, is a trigger; a ‘push’ over the hypothetical edge, that causes us to lose control over ourselves and fall into insanity.

I hope you’re enjoying my thread of bite-size philosophical blog posts!

Next time, we’re getting flashy (again)!
